Relocating is stressful. My goal was to reduce complexity and bring clarity to people moving across borders.

Simplifying Global Relocation

Relocation startup

My Role: Product Designer (UX + UI)

Tools: Figma, Miro, Notion, Lovable

Duration: 7 month

Team: 6 (Developer, UX designers, Marketers)

Impact: Mapped user flows, redesigned navigation, built design system, improved accessibility, and conducted usability testing with real immigrants.

Who are they?

Emigreat is a relocation startup helping individuals and companies manage the complex process of immigration.

What I Stepped Into

  • Users struggled to find their next steps no clear journeys.

  • The team shipped fast → design patterns and accessibility were inconsistent.

Understanding the Product & Its Gaps

Mapped journeys for Individuals, HRs, and Admins to uncover gaps in navigation and tasks.

A quick round of usability testing revealed confusion with task cards.

Turning AI Layouts

Into Real-World Design

We identified key UX gaps and needed a more consistent foundation.

We used Lovable to generate layouts - helpful, but they lacked clarity.

From there, I:

  • Adapted the layouts into Figma for full control

  • Built components for consistency across the product

  • Redesigned sections based on real user feedback and team priorities

Design System & Accessibility

All colors tested for WCAG AA/AAA contrast compliance

To support future growth, I created a scalable design system with reusable components and clear typography.

Testing with Real Immigrants

User testing revealed that what matters most is clarity, trust, and personalized support. These insights helped us prioritize features that users truly need.

Tested 6 key flows: onboarding, task lists, compliance, and marketplace.

8 People, 6 Nationalities, 4 Visa Types

We also tested key UI components to uncover usability friction.

We each created different logos and then we discussed and agreed on a new version of the one we liked most.
